Last 27 January 2024, we had our first parent engagement session with our Partners for Excellence. As a school, our ultimate partners are our dear parents. At the start of this year, I was set to move out and venture to the first love.
Until an unexpected turn of events happened. One of our students fought for his life. Few days before the start of our class, we have been advised by our student affairs officer that Matt Aeron in currently at the ICU of KK Hospital. Just the thought of being at the ICU brings back a memory when my mother was there almost 20 years ago. Flashbacks of memories for the very short time that my Nanay Nora was there. I have my best friend in High School giving me that head gesture that it is the end.
So when the word ICU came back again close to me, I said my prayers and immediately messaged Matt Aeronโs parents. I feel the anxiety even though I do not know what really is the status of his health. I checked on one of our very reliable mommy nurse of HFSE, our dear Mommy Jessebel. I told her that one of our student is in the ICU and if she can help us to look after him. The next few days, our team has mobilised a daily prayer rally and send the whatsapp messages as we start our AY2024. The past two weeks was a roller coaster for the parents. We visited him twice.
It was a miracle! Almost three weeks of prayers and Matt Aeron was out of ICU!

That word strike directly to heart. When I decided to move out and let another leader take charge, it was that message that change my HEART. 9 years ago, God asked me to meet them up even I am decided not to help them as I am contented to the status that I had then. 9 years down the round, I am here and in conversation with the Lord, open my HEART and made me realise that this community is where I am asked to look after.
This community whom are grateful for my existence and answering the call to serve.
This community who continue to trust and support our advocacies and initiatives.
This community that brings us genuine love from students and parents who stayed with us along the years.
This community is where I am called to be yourself to fullness.
It is funny how I tried to always find other groups or organisations wherein many times I felt not fit for me, only to realise that this community is where God asked me to bring closer to him.
God uses many events that is connected to other lives to bring forth His message. I am just glad that He never fails to show me where I supposed to be. I am glad that he always speaks to my HEART.
This community is my personal ministry. I am bound to stay with them until God tells me I am done.
